Inspection of Lwesindizi Road Works Shows Major Progress in Nakaseke North

Nakaseke District — Leaders and technical staff have conducted an inspection of the ongoing maintenance works on the 24-kilometre Lwesindizi Road in Kinyogoga Sub-county, a route long considered one of the worst in Nakaseke North Constituency.
The inspection revealed that the road is now approximately 80 percent complete, marking a significant improvement in accessibility for residents and road users. Once fully rehabilitated, the road will provide a vital link between Nakaseke District and neighboring Nakasongola District, easing transport and boosting local economic activity.
The project is being funded under the road maintenance grant, with Shs 389,861,216 allocated specifically for the Lwesindizi Road. This funding is part of the broader one billion shillings approved by Parliament to support road maintenance efforts within the district.
Speaking during the inspection, Kinyogoga Sub-county LCIII Chairperson Nahurira commended the progress made so far. He appreciated the quality and pace of the works, noting that even the partial completion has already begun to improve mobility in the area.
“This road has been in a very poor state for years, affecting transport and service delivery. What has been done so far is encouraging, and we are hopeful the remaining works will be completed on time,” he said.
Residents in the area have also welcomed the improvements, citing reduced travel time and better access to markets, schools, and health facilities.
District officials reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring value for money and timely completion of the project, emphasizing the importance of road infrastructure in driving socio-economic development.
The completion of Lwesindizi Road is expected to significantly transform connectivity in Nakaseke North, opening up opportunities for trade and improving the overall quality of life for communities along the route.
