Nakaseke Achieves 100% Hoe Distribution as RDC Rose Flags Off Second Batch to Households

The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Nakaseke, Rose Kyarimpa, has officially flagged off the distribution of the second batch of 27,133 plain hand hoes to households across all sub-counties in the district, marking the completion of the government's planned distribution under the 2024 National Population and Housing Census.
The second consignment brings the total distribution to 100 percent, ensuring that every registered household in Nakaseke receives a government-issued hand hoe to boost agricultural production and improve household livelihoods.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, RDC Rose underscored the importance of transparency, accountability, and fairness throughout the distribution exercise. She directed all leaders and technical officers involved to ensure that the hoes reach the intended beneficiaries without favoritism or discrimination.
She emphasized that every household is entitled to receive a hand hoe regardless of political affiliation, urging local leaders not to use the exercise to advance political interests or exclude any eligible beneficiaries.
"This is a government programme meant to benefit all Ugandans. No household should be denied a hoe because of their political beliefs. Let us ensure the distribution is transparent and every eligible household receives its rightful share," the RDC said.
Rose also appealed to sub-county leaders, parish chiefs, LC officials, and other stakeholders to closely supervise the exercise and maintain accurate records to guarantee accountability throughout the distribution process.
The government initiative is aimed at strengthening household food production by equipping families with essential farming tools, particularly as agriculture remains the backbone of livelihoods for many residents in Nakaseke District.
Residents welcomed the completion of the distribution exercise, expressing optimism that the farming tools will improve cultivation and increase agricultural productivity.
With the flag-off of the second batch, Nakaseke District has successfully completed the distribution of hand hoes to all households as allocated under the 2024 population census, demonstrating the government's commitment to supporting rural communities and promoting inclusive agricultural development.
