RDC Rose Hands Over Agricultural Inputs to Farmer Groups in Nakaseke

Farmers in Nakaseke District have received a major boost after the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Rose Mary Sseninde, officially handed over assorted agricultural inputs to various farmer groups under the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project.
The colorful function, held at the district headquarters, attracted local leaders, agricultural officers, and members of beneficiary farmer groups from different sub-counties across the district.
Among the items distributed were handle pruning saws, tarpaulins, and wheelbarrows aimed at improving agricultural productivity and promoting modern farming practices among farmers.
While handing over the equipment, RDC Rose emphasized government’s commitment towards empowering farmers and transforming agriculture into a profitable venture capable of improving household incomes.
She urged beneficiaries to utilize the inputs effectively and work collectively in their groups to enhance production and fight poverty in their communities.
“This project is intended to help our farmers adopt climate-smart agriculture and increase household incomes. I encourage you to use these tools responsibly so that government’s efforts can bring meaningful change to your families,” she noted.
District agricultural officials applauded the government for supporting farmer groups, saying the inputs will ease post-harvest handling, improve farm management, and boost productivity.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the government for the support, describing the inputs as timely and crucial in improving their farming activities.
The Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project seeks to strengthen farmers’ resilience to climate change while promoting sustainable agricultural practices and economic development among rural households.
